Better the Patient Experience - Healthcare Data

Empower patients to monitor their own health and come to their own decisions.

Problem

Transferring from one health care provider to another leaves patients powerless to control their own healthcare data. This restricted access to your own healthcare information typically results in longer wait times, which leads to negative treatment experiences. Lack of data continuity also limits healthcare professionals from making important decisions or diagnoses from having a 360 view of the patient.

Our Plan

  • Improve the transfer of information by organizing existing records by the patient, rather than the institution.

  • Create comprehensive patient profiles using current and historic data to assist healthcare providers with predicting relevant treatment plans.

  • Decrease the challenges of in-person care by increasing access to telemedicine with self-assessments, online systems for bookings, and more available times for appointments.

  • Ensure the long-overdue integration of wearable tech into the healthcare process.

This Matters

The fact that social media has better access to our personal data than our health professionals is unacceptable. From making data digestible to healthcare teams and patients to extracting key learning points from aggregated information, improving our healthcare data platforms is a long-overdue priority that will literally make everyone in our community healthier. Higher quality patient care starts with reducing information obstacles, resulting in more accurate diagnoses and more successful treatment. Electronic healthcare records actively reduce burdens and delays from the side of hospitals and clinicians and allow everyone as a patient to take back control of their own data.
